He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Cotterill and Ruby Cotterill (Lemke); his former wife Joyce Braun; his son Dale Cotterill; his grandson Collin Cushman; and his daughter-in-law Sheryl Cotterill.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Cotterill; his children, Dennis Cotterill (Izzy Eckert) of Markesan, John Cotterill of Markesan and Judy Cushman (Kevin) of Wis Rapids; his stepson Joseph Greget (Misty Galli) of Medford; his brother Roger Cotterill (Peggy) of Markesan; and his pets, Thomas Gene and Goldie. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
