He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcella Thielen (Bermke) and George Thielen; his parents-in-law, Marguerite (Elfner) and Joseph Cherney; and his children, Timothy Mark Thielen and Tina Louise Gaffey (Thielen).
He is survived by: his wife Joan Cherney; his daughters, Kim Spartichino and Tammy Herminath; his son-in-law Jim Gaffey; his siblings, Gary Thielen and Barbra Harvey (Randy); his grandchildren, Robert (RJ), Scott (Dawn), Samuel, Hannah Spartichino, Caitlin, Jordan Herminath, Michaela and Ella Gaffey; and his great grandchildren, Emery, Haylen and Robert T. Spartichino. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Roger's name.
