He was predeceased by : his parents, Waino Kovala and Lillian Kovala (Maki); and his brother Donald. He is survived by : his wife Marilyn Erickson; his children, Susan Earlewine (Wynn), Linda Ness (Dave), Gary Kovala (Jodi) and Sam Kovala (Lynda Knutson); his grandchildren, Courtney, Hope, Kelsey, Evan, Alex, Emily and Molly; his sisters, Alice Tesser and Joyce Smith (Jim); and his sister-in-law Mavis Kovala. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of brothers and sisters.
