He was predeceased by: his parents, John Artus and Emma Artus (Hilmershausen); his wife Elaine Ziegel; and his siblings, Gertrude Reiche (Leonard), Alma Semerau (Elmer), Alice Baumann (Leslie), John Artus (Leilia) and James Artus.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Artus, Kenny Artus (Dawn Gauerke), Gary Artus, Mary Schultz (Robert), Lynette Schuster and Kerri Ohde (Bryne); his grandchildren, Nicholas Artus (Andrea), Kimberly Knauf (Robb), Terra Orth (Craig), Trudy Wahlen (Kurt), Trent Artus (Alicia), Trista Doucette (Josh), Trevor Schultz, Tonya Bakken (Tony), Kendra Miller (Cliff) and Kaleb Ohde; his great grandchildren, Nash, Kenzie, Asher, Konner, Kyler, Kylie, Colton, Kierslyn, Thomas, Chloe, Isaac, Mason, Lucas, Mykenna, Alexa, Rory, Jace and Zoey; his niece Gloria Lavicka (Ron); and his sister-in-law Marvel Artus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
