Russell Joseph Vesely Obituary
March 12, 1942 - December 9, 2017 Russell (Russ) J. Vesely of Marathon passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 with his family by his side. Russ was born in Mosinee, WI on March 12, 1942 to Edward and Mary (Sirny) Vesely. Russ married the love of his life, Laurie B. Clewien on October 24, 1975. She survives. Russ worked for many years as a chemical and agriculture salesman and at Gordon Aluminum in the maintenance department.
After his retirement, he was part owner of Halfmoon Bar & Grill in Mosinee and helped out part time at Pine Valley Golf Course. Russ also volunteered his time every Labor Day weekend to cook the pig for the Boy Scouts at the Marathon Fun Days. Russ enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending his time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a huge Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan. He also liked getting together with his brothers, sisters and family to play the accordion and listen to polka music. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Russ is survived by his wife, Laurie (Marathon), his son Jeremy (Dodie) Vesely of Colby, his daughters Jacki (Bruce) Pfaff of Junction City, Kerry Vesely of Marathon and Nikki (Pat) Mussfeldt of Wausau and his grandchildren: Addison, Kason, Zoe, Sophie, Madelyn, Taylor and Jace, brothers; Gordon (Judy) Vesely of Menomonee Falls, Vernon (Margaret) Vesely of Mosinee, sister; Ellie (Jim) Risch of Milton, two sister-in law"s; Kathy Vesely, Mosinee and Doris Vesely, Weston, his mother-in-law; Elizabeth Clewien and many brother-in-law"s and sister-in-law"s and nieces and nephews.
Russ is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Vesely, his father-in-law Arnold Clewien, his sisters; Rita Lenz, Carol Blaszczyk and Mildred Schaefer, his brothers; Jerry, Kenneth and Harold Vesely, brother-in-law"s; Charles Blaszczyk and Kurt Schwandt and sister-in-law; Sally Vesely. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 16th from 1-4 at John J. Buettgen Memorial Chapel 900 Old Hwy 51, Mosinee.
