He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Schlais and Bernadine Schlais (Bargender); and his brother-in-law Leonard Springer. He is survived by: his wife Donna Hornung of Marathon; his daughters, Jenn Ruplinger (Justin) of Suamico and Terese Kunick (Jeff) of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Dax and Laken Ruplinger of Suamico; and his sister Janice Springer of Edgar. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
