He was predeceased by: his father Edwin Ahrens. He is survived by: his mother Virginia Ahrens (Assells); his wife Betty Knauf; his daughters, Sandy Buchberger (Larry) and Sara Jaglinski (Paul); his granddaughter Jordyn Jaglinski; and his siblings, Kathy Hagenbucher (Ed) and Edwin Jr. "Paulie" Ahrens (Sue Austin).
