He is survived by: his wife Delores M. Ukkola; his children, Howard Hakkila, Barbara Trempe (Hakkila) and Neil Hakkila (Stephanie); and his stepchildren, Laura Ukkola, Gregory Ukkola (Rhonda) and Julie Durbin (David). He is also survived by grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
