He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester and Margaret; and his sister Ramona. He is survived by: his wife Sallie; and his sons, David (Lesley), Steve (Heidi) and Tim (Lisa). He is also survived by three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

“My heart is just broken. Roger was the most caring, loving, talented man and I loved him very much. I will never forget when he did a portrait of Kenny Roger's for me from a concert book I had. That portrait moved with me to main places. Summers In Pembine won't be the same however maybe he has already had cocktail hour with my parents! You definitely will be missed.
