It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Schmatz of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schmatz and Mary Schiesl Schmatz (Delores); his wife Delores A. Schuh; and his siblings, Art, Joseph and Marion Dhein.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Simmet (Jerry), Susan Kaprelian (Jeff), Ann Rank (Steve) and Robert Schmatz (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Marques Tuschl (Rachael), Kent Tuschl (Stacy), Peter Tuschl, Robert Tuschl (Eileen), Kelsey Brusso (Mike), Ben Kaprelian, Abby Kaprelian, Alex Rank, Elliott Rank, Keith-Ann Rice (Howard), Sydney Schmatz and Mayson Schmatz; his sisters, Betty Mushial, Frances McDonnell and Ann Hassemer (Milton); and also, Jeannie Miller, Greg, Bobbi Tuma and Rick Dehne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
