She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Samz and Clara Samz (Rouiller); her spouse Thomas Skidmore; her daughter Ann Marie Skidmore; and her siblings, Angie McDonald (Thomas), Elaine Fitzgerald (Bill), Vincent Samz (Helen), Francis Kurtz (Henry) and Mildred Samz.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Skidmore (Ken Vesely) of Manitowoc, Joan Risch (Rick) of Manitowoc and John Skidmore (Sandy); her granddaughter Jamie Mullins (Shaun) of Heppner, OR; and her great grandchildren, Charlie, Ella, Emma, Grady and Griffin. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

“To my extended family in Wisconsin, my condolences go out to you for the loss of my aunt Rita. She was a great person who was very important to many and will be missed. She will be in my prayers and so to will all of you who read this. Mom (Angie McDonald) is probably the first to greet her to show here around and someday, when it’s our turn, I hope she will be there for our greeting as well! I will keep her in my prayers.”
