Mary Lou (Petznick) Gorte Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Lou (Petznick) Gorte of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 27, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Petznick and Ethel Mae Petznick (Waak); her parents-in-law, Henry and Adeline Gorte; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Gorte and Victor Voigt.
She is survived by: her husband Fred Gorte; her children, Rev. Michael Gorte (Becky), Gretchen Gorte (Jason Speck) of Albuquerque, NM, Christopher Gorte (Bobbi) and Amanda Manders (Mike); her granddaughters, Alyssa, Rachel, Hannah Gorte, Brielle, Avery Gorte, Raegan and Adelyn Manders; her sisters, Linae Day (Bonnie Ewald), Cynthia Nass (Phil) and Martha Ewald (Dick); and her siblings-in-law, Christine Voigt, Richard Gorte and Raymond Gorte (Denise). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (7531 English Lake Rd, Manitowoc, WI 54220). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Mary's name to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
