He was predeceased by: his wife Kazuko; his parents, Delores Babich Carlson and Earl Paul Thompson (Shirley Petersen Thompson); his brother Tommy of Arizona; his siblings-in-law, Ivan Stegemann and Susan Thompson; and his cousin Karen Landon Klein.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Michiko Burghardt (Milt Clausen) of Fallon, NV and Mayumi Gray (Bill) of Fallon, NV; his grandchildren, Justin Burghardt, Billy and Melanie Gray; his great grandchild Ronan Burghardt; and his siblings, Jerry of Chicago, Pete (Mala) of Huntsville, AL, Cathy Stegemann of Las Cruces, NM, Connie Jo of Shorewood, Sandee Pickard (Coleman) of Frankfort, IN, Becky Lemen of St. Louis, Dawn Wilson (Ron) of Kirklin, IN, Heidi Rosinsky (Steve) of Manitowoc and Gina Lambert (John) of Manitowoc. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
