He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Winkel and Bernice Winkel (Spice); his parents-in-law, Lucy and Marvin Mott; his brother Gene; his sister-in-law Bernedine Mott; his siblings, James (Violet Winkel), Eva Matthias, Patricia Genske, Arthur Winkel, Jr., Kathy (Arthur Ripley) and Karen (Bruce Williquette); and his sister-in-law Shelly Winkel.
He is survived by: his wife Joan E. Mott; his children, Tammy Garrett (Andrew), Wendy Sieracki (Brett), Joseph Winkel (Maggie) and Jason Winkel; his grandchildren, Cassidy Winkel (Spencer), Makiah Winkel (Dominique), Jordan (Karen Winkel), Tristan Garrett (Danny), Allyssa Winkel, Halle Krause (Josh), Mackenzie Garrett (Gabriel), Carson Garrett (Mercedes), Kyle Sieracki, Shaylynn Sieracki and Brandon Sieracki; his siblings, Christine Cerkas, Alice Mohr (Bill), Marge Holdorf (Russell), Mary Hardrath (Jim), John Paape (Betty) and Michael Winkel; his brother-in-law David Matthias; and his great grandchildren, Marquise, Jayceon, Zy'aire, Cash, Ava, Aston, Aylah and Royce. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lincoln Park - Cabin (1215 N 8th St, Manitowoc, WI 54220).
