He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sweetman and Minnie Sweetman (Tegge); his grandchildren, Raymond, Jocyln and Mandissa; his siblings, Orland "Sonny", James "Junior", Eugene Sweetman, Helen, Rose Marie "Snookie" and Florence; and the mother of his children Patricia Vetter.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Brunner, Cynthia Dempsey, Kelly Sweetman (Margaret Hebert), Cathrine Heyduk (Randi), Kurt Sweetman (Brenda), Keith Sweetman (Amy Berge) and Carol Paider (Gary); and his siblings, William Sweetman, Robert Sweetman (Lynn) and Nancy Vesley (Charles). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.
