With solemn reverence, we commemorate Wayne Schmidt of Madison, Wisconsin, whose life came to an end on September 24, 2024 at the age of 89, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nellie Cutts Schmidt and Louis Schmidt; his brothers, LeRoy and Arnold Schmidt; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Caskey Schmidt.
He is survived by: his sister Fran Bailey-Gokey of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; his children, Steve Schmidt (Brad Hamilton) of Chapel Hill, NC, Bill Schmidt (Georgia) of Raleigh, NC and Kate Fletcher (Roger) of Verona, WI; and his grandchildren, Emily, Thomas Schmidt, Garrett and Sam Fletcher.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (406 Grant St, Wausau, WI 54403). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Presbyterian Church of Wausau, Northcentral Technical College, or Kiwanis.
