Peter Daniel Navin Obituary
Peter Daniel Navin was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 12, 1997, he died in Madison, WI on May 27, 2023, at 26 years of age. Peter is survived by his parents, Dan & Julie (Rank) Navin; sister, Sarah Navin; grandmother, Darlene Rank; grandfather, James Navin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Janet Navin; Poppa, Arvin Rank, and uncle, Tim Navin.
Peter grew up in Menomonee Falls, WI and graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 2015. Ever since he was a little boy, his dream was to attend UW-Madison. He went on to graduate from UW-Madison in 2020 earning a Degree in Computer Science, fulfilling his dream. He was immensely proud to achieve that goal and to be a Badger Graduate!
After graduation, he stayed in Madison to work and called the city his home. Peter was an avid sports fan, he loved watching and going to the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers games. He always had insightful comments to share about the games. Win or lose, his support never wavered for his home teams. Peter truly enjoyed Madison, spending time with his family that lives there, the friends he made, fishing the lakes, and going to the farmers markets.
Peter loved food, he researched and helped plan our family vacations, usually around a food tour and which restaurants we were going to eat at. He remembered his meal at each restaurant and which restaurant he wanted to go back to and try a different dish. We cherish the experiences and the memories we made on our vacations. Peter found joy when he was cooking with family and friends, trying to recreate the meals and flavors he tasted on our trips.
The visitation for Peter will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10AM until the time of the 12Noon memorial service at the Holy Cross Lutheran church, W156 N8131 Pilgrim Rd., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Tragically the disease, substance use disorder, took his life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Peter's memory to 5 Door Recovery https://catholiccharitiesofmadison.org or a different organization of your choice that supports and helps people with substance use disorder, so they can live a healthy life. We want to give a special thanks to everyone associated with the clubhouse who supported Peter with managing his anxiety and emotions, so he could complete his UW Degree and live life while on this earth.
