Larry Dean Daane Obituary
With profound sadness, we bid farewell to Larry D. Daane, who peacefully departed this world on March 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on April 29, 1943, in Highland, WI, Larry was the son of Frank and Cleo Daane. Raised in Highland and Madison, WI, he attended Central High School.
Larry's life was a tapestry woven with threads of service, adventure, and camaraderie. Proudly dedicating 20 years to the US Air Force until his retirement in 1981, Larry regaled all with the vibrant stories of his international escapades. His infectious laughter echoed through every tale, a testament to his zest for life. Larry found joy in the company of family and friends, whether engaged in spirited card games, rounds of golf, or his favorite pursuit—perusing garage sales for hidden treasures. He successfully supplied full-sets of golf clubs to his family and friends’ whether they needed a set or not. If you let him know what your needs were, he would be sure to show up at your house, with 20+ options of your desired item. He so loved to share his treasures.
Larry is survived by brothers (David and Dennis), sister-in-laws, numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and a multitude of friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers (John, Jerry, Jim, and Robert) and an infant niece.
A celebration of life will be held at Oregon Bowl (214 Spring St., Oregon, WI) on Friday, 3/29/24, from 3-6:00 p.m., with an honor guard service commencing at 2:45 p.m. in the Oregon Bowl parking lot. All who knew Larry are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are gratefully accepted.
Larry Daane will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
