She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Joseph and Ida Mary DeFries; her sisters, Mary Margaret Mueller (Sissy) and Faith Schulte; her husband Ervin Gay of Rita's Church; her brother Robert DeFries Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Bob Mueller, Ernie Gay, Ted Gay, Jr. and Art Braun; and her son-in-law Geary Beyler.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Jude Doerpinghaus (Chris) of Dublin, Calif, Julie Beyler of Madison, Michael Gay of Madison, Thomas Gay of Cheyenne, Laura Cohrs (Daryle) of Cypress and Judah Nyden (Christy) of Annapolis; her grandchildren, Allison Caudill (Kyle), Evan Doerpinghaus, Nicole, Nathan Beyler, Madyson, Ashlyn, Chandlyr, Austyn Cohrs, Aubrey and Kattrin Nyden; and her siblings-in-law, Becky DeFries, Shirley Gay, Marilyn Gay, Darlene Braun and Michael Schulte Sr.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and some of the dearest friends, cousins, and neighbors.
In remembrance of Judy's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Dennis Catholic School and Heartland Hospice.
