He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Downs; his children, Steven Downs (Julie), Phillip Downs (Amy) and Ann Marie Downs (Joel Taylor); his grandchildren, Riley, Anton Downs, Ella, Matthew, Charlotte, William Downs and Bodhi Taylor; and his brother Timothy Thomas Downs (Doreen).
