He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leichtenberg and Nona Leichtenberg (Sutter); his sons, Michael and Andrew Leichtenberg; and his siblings, Gloria Baldwin and James Leichtenberg.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sobye; and his daughters, Laura Leichtenberg, Julia Leichtenberg and Ann Leichtenberg. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
