He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlotte Patricia and James T. "Jimmy" Devine; his wife Shirley; his son Thomas; his sister Patricia (John Cleveland); his brother-in-law Jim Moore; and his mother-in-law Grace Ballam.
He is survived by: his children, James Devine, Ann Davidson (Dan), Kathy Devine (Rick), Mary Devine, Tim Devine, Pat Devine (Tesa), Colleen Koch (Dennis) and A. J. "Andy" Devine (Sandy); his grandchildren, Andrea Kling (Adam), Bart Davidson (Lisa), Danielle Norsted (Tyler), Cris Winner, Max Devine, Alison Speiker (Ben), Ben Devine, Emily Devine, Nicholas Devine, Michael Devine, Jessica Koch and Melissa Koch; his great grandchildren, Kalissa Kling, Alivia Kling, Solveig Norsted, Dylan Davidson and Bridger Davidson; his sister Suzanne Moore; and his sister-in-law Lari Dhein. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
