He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Lyman and Margaret Abigail Dawson (Opie); his wife Carroll (Hedges); his children, Linda Dawson, Peter (Sarah) and Michael (Luanne); and his son-in-law Donald Pfahler. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice or St. Peter Church.
