It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James J. Ruhland of Madison, Wisconsin, born in Plain, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ruhland and Florentine "Flo" Ruhland (Heiser); and his brother David. He is survived by: his wife Sue of Madison; his children, Amy Dolata (Michael) of Muskego and Brent (Megan) of Monona; his grandchildren, Presley Dolata, Etta, Everett and Berit; his siblings, Marv (Kathy), Donna Hussin, Shirley Bremer (Bill), Karen Krey (Jim), Jean Giese (Ron), Julie Carr (Michael), Sheila Ruhland and Mary Ruhland; and his uncle Ralph Ruhland (Pat). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care (5203 Monona Dr, Monona, WI 53716). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (3054 County Hwy N, Cottage Grove, WI 53527).
