He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold and Cora; his sister Joyce Nyenhuis; and his brothers-in-law, John Nyenhuis (Bill) and Richard Van Stelle.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Pam Cherney (Jon) and Lisa Jekel (Todd); his sister Virginia Van Stelle; his grandchildren, Ben Cherney (Sharon), Katherine Cherney (Dave Coulthurst), Lauren Cherney (Will Shirey), Sam Jekel, Jo Samuelson (Logan) and Wes Jekel; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Nora, Micah and Finley.
Memorials may be made in Jack's name to Luke House or Door Creek Church.
