It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert James Hellen in Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Allyn Hellen and Vera Hellen (Claridge); and his brothers, Wesley and Richard. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Wayne Attoe and Carol Jean Attoe; his children, Joanne H. Jastram (Carter) of Columbus and Edward Hellen (Alice) of Greensboro, NC; and his grandchildren, Helen Jastram, Keith Jastram and Deborah Hellen. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and various nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capitol Lakes Foundation and to Bethany United Methodist Church, both of Madison, Wisconsin.
