He was predeceased by: his siblings, Isabelle Zapf and William "Bill" Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Karen of Sun Prairie; his daughter Katie (Troy Brueckner) of Madison; his granddaughter Ada; and his brother Alex of Wautoma. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
