He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Edmund Elderkin and Ruby Irene Burke; his adoptive parents, Fred Heller and Jenny Heller; his siblings, Teddy Heller, John Kurabelis and Delores Leavitt; his son Vernon Heller; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Friedland and Heather Ecklund.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Ethel Geiger; and his children, Sherri Friedland (Peter), Charlene Elderkin (Nathan), Jenni Gile (Tom), Jacquelyn Heller, Fred Heller (Brenda), Clark Heller (AnnMarie), Cynthia Heller (David), Rene Springer (Steve), Bett Sawle (Billy), Alisa Rew (Paul) and Ashley Di Scala (Salvatore). He is also survived by 46 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.
