He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kapolnek and Margaretha Kapolnek; his sister Katharina Tomas; and his brother-in-law Emmerich Tomas. He is survived by: his nieces, Rosemarie Mellenberger (Randall) and Christine Tomas (Alex Alcocer); and his great-nephew Paul Tomas.
