He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Koenen and Marie Koenen; his granddaughter Elizabeth VanSchyndel; his great grandchild Collin Shisler; and his brothers-in-law, Clifford Clapp and Vincent Getka.
He is survived by: his children, Ron Koenen (Mary), Russ Koenen (Tami), Rita Van Schyndel (John), Ruth Banta (Jim), Rachelle Haacker (Dan), Rhonda Fischer (Steve) and Ryan Koenen (Tammy). He is also survived by his wife, his seven children, 24 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Parish of Lyons or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
