He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Vandermissen and Louise Vandermissen (DuBois); his sisters, Lillian Delfosse (Herman) and Lorna Bailey (Carroll); his brothers-in-law, Sylvester Quam, Charles Quam (Beverly), Donald Quam, Carlton Quam and Roger Quam; and his son-in-law Gregg Umentum.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Quam of Peter's Lutheran Church; his children, Philip Vandermissen (Ann) of Sturgeon Bay and Sherry Lau (John) of Sturgeon Bay; his grandchildren, Morgan Routhieaux (Michael) of Medford, WI, Brandon Umentum (Alia Drexler) and Joseph Vandermissen; his stepgranddaughters, Cortney Sommers (Giovanni) of Fairbanks, AK and Chelsea Lau of Charlotte, NC; his great grandchild Miles Routhieaux; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Dominic and Iris Sommers; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Quam, Marianne Quam, Carlye Quam and Linda Block (Wayne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Peters Lutheran Church (108 W Maple St, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
