He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayde Hughey and Edith Hughey (Helmke); his siblings, Evelyn, George, Helen, Margaret and Roger; and also Eva McFarlane.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Mark (Lori), Teresa Hughey Groves (Portage), Jeff (Rana), Jean (Joseph), Spataro (Lodi), Lance (Deon) and Susan Cameron (Grant); his grandchildren, Rebecca Groves (Adesegn Garry), John Mark Hughey, Emily Groves, Alyssa Hughey, Luke Hughey (Beth), Mathias Hughey (Elsa Kraus), Andrew Groves (Liz), Benjamin Hughey (Claren McLaughlin), Abigail Groves (John Klemme), Christopher Hughey and Ella Hughey; and also John Robert (Bob). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
