He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gillis and Mary Gillis (Rhode); and his brother Lloyd "Pug" Gillis. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his sons, Dan Gillis (Cristina) and Tony Gillis (Tamra); his sisters, Marlene Jarvey and JoAnne Weaver; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Bednarik (Linda) and Mary Martin (Randal). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
