With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Verna Berken (Little Chute, Wisconsin), born in Freedom, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 1, 2018 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dora and John; her parent-in-law Hubert (Al); and her siblings, Norb (Harriet), Bill (Lorraine), Florence Schmidt (Leo), Frances Moudrey, Rosella Kortz (Orin), Vince (Elaine), Esther Van Vreede, John (Germaine), Bob (Beady), Eleanor Bowers and Charlotte Green.

She is survived by: her spouse Gerald Berken (Jerry); her children, Ken (Becky), Bonnie Byrne (Dennis), Don (Heidi), Rick, Diane Diedrick (Duane), Brian (Kay), Jeff (Lisa) and Scott (Julie); her grandchildren, Todd (Carrie), Greg, Eric Berken, Chris (Miaoli), Marc (Marcia), Samantha Byrne (Jake Raleigh), Kristin Jefcik (Ryan), Katie Daramola (Josh), Jessie Nelson (Matt), Ben Pynenberg (Ashley White), Jeremiah Berken, Courtney, Elizabeth, Morgan Diedrick, Rachel, Derrick, Zach, Noah and Ian Berken; her great grandchildren, Blake, Caleb, Finnigan, Honesty, Payton, Hadassah and Tessa; and her sisters-in-law, Jim Van Vreede, Bud Bowers, Lorraine Berken, Rita Berken, Jerry Bruecker, Mary Berken, Gordy Berken, Lloyd Berken (Blanche), Margie Sprierings, Emmett Berken, Mae Kuepper (Pete) and Dale Berken. She is also survived by many nieces, nephew, and friends.
