He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hey and Bardine Van De Hey (Tiesling); his daughters, Kathy Smudde and Linda Uitenbroek; his siblings, Ray (Helen), Norb (Margaret), Howard Van De (Pat) and Iline Nackers (Joe); and his parents-in-law, Irvan Coenen, Pat Coenen, Bill Coenen, Ray Coenen, LaVerne McCarthy (Rich), Norbert Van Dyke, Rose Coenen and Doris Carlson.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Van De Hey; his children, Lyle Van De (Wanda), Cindy Dillinger (Frank) and Janice Schmitz (Ken); his sons-in-law, Ralph Smudde and Randy Uitenbroek; his grandchildren, Travis Van De (Heidi), Cory Van De (Danielle), Becky Smudde, Kristin Maahs (Tyler), Amy Wurdinger (Nick), Craig Dillinger, Tanya Van Horn (Rich), Kara Schaefer (Brian), Adam Schmitz (Sophie) and Megan Albrecht (Ryan); his stepgrandchildren, Jeff Millard (Ann E.), Emily Schwartz (Terry) and Jackie Tilman (Matt); his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Taylor, Lauren, Kaeden, Kinley, Bentley, Jack, Leah, Foster, Truitt, Declan, Hendrick, Sydney, Trevor, Quinn, Addison, Molly and Joshua; and his parents-in-law, Marilyn Van Dyke, Norman Coenen, Lloyd Coenen (Julie) and Maggie Coenen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established with donations going toward genetic breast cancer research.
