He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gerrits and Geraldine Gerrits; his stepmother Loretta Gerrits; his siblings, Audrey VanHandel (Earl), Elaine Evers (Donald), Germaine Werner (Jerome), Darlene Romenesko (Leroy), Clarice Islinger (Frank), Gene Gerrits (Lois), Don Gerrits (Lillian) and Bob Gerrits (Millie); his brother-in-law James Welch; and his son-in-law Mark Roovers.
He is survived by: his sister Vernadine Welch; and his children, Kathy Roovers, Kristin (Larry Dorn), Jason (Caitlin Roovers), Lynn (Ken Kurey), Amber (Darren Reiland), Amanda (Darby Evert), Sandy Locy, Jake (Kayla Locy), Allison (Matt VandenHogen), Vance (Hannah Lamers), Bill (Michele Gerrits), Tracy (Mike Wittmann), Willie Gerrits, Ivory Knutson, Emma Knutson, Ethan Knutson and Ken Gerrits (Bobbi Jo Pettit). He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Lake Park (8904 Lake Park Rd, Menasha, WI 54952).
