He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hartzheim and Anna Hartzheim (Jochmann); his stepfather Raymond Hoffman; and his siblings, Robert (Marge), Norbert (Virginia), Joseph Hartzheim and Ann Gill.

He is survived by: his close friends, Margaret "Pete" Hankwitz, Bill and Pam Hankwitz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
