She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Bongers and Marie Bongers; her parents-in-law, Jack and Marie Verhagen; her siblings, Mary Jane Bongers, Grace Vander Velden (Gene) and Dave Bongers; and her siblings-in-law, Bill Verhagen (Eileen) and Bonnie VanAsten.
She is survived by: her husband Tom Verhagen; her children, Tim Verhagen (Amy) and Connie Wittmann (Bill); her grandchildren, Melissa (Chad), Leonardo, Apollo Wittman, Gerrit Verhagen (Davina), Krystine (Drew) and Aurora; her great grandchildren, Haisley Lindemann, Scott (Katie), Wells Wittmann, Claire (Josh), Jade Urness, Jordan (Charlie) and Sutton Albers; her siblings, Tom Bongers (Mary), Cindy Mathe (Greg) and Patti Bongers-De Groot; her brothers-in-law, Jerry Verhagen (Rose) and Art Van Asten; and her godchildren, Allison Geiger, Lisa Witzke-Frost, Brenda Krause and Cheryl Verhagen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.
