He is survived by: his parents, Steve "Sparky" Van Asten (Sandy) and Patricia Coonen (David); his sister Jenny Roth (Ryan); his nieces and nephews, Addie, Gabby and Burke; his stepsisters, Samantha Kerswill and Jenna Schmidt (Chris); his grandmothers, Donna Van Asten and Jeanette Coonen; his aunts and uncles, Jeff Van Asten (Diane), Randy Van Asten (Jan), Tom Van Asten (Sue), Kim Ryan (Scott), Scott Van Asten (Sherry), Charles Van Asten, Jan Biese, Margaret Lacosse (Larry), Cheryl Iverson (Ken), Tom Biese and Joe Biese; and his friend Mary Jo Thies.
