She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Zeeland and Catherine Van Zeeland (Ebben); her husband Thomas De Bruin; her parents-in-law, Frank and Agnes De Bruin; her siblings-in-law, Dan Voet, Tom Kalupa, Bob Buechel, Jim De Bruin, Betty Peerenboom (Joe) and Joyce Bouressa (Shy); her stepmother Christine "Teenie" Theunis; her stepbrother Bill Theunis (Jim Coenen); her uncle Merle; and her aunt Jayne Vandenberg.
She is survived by: her children, Deb Hammen (Keith), Frank De Bruin (Rachelle), Tim De Bruin (Lisa) and Terri Reynebeau (Dan); her grandchildren, Jill, Kevin, Mike, Will (Makayla Kleiber), Mary Hammen and Kate Borowski (Maxwell); her children, Andrew (Aubri Campos), Connor, Kayla De Bruin, Tiffany (Tim Bauer), Jodi, Steffany (Ryan Conat), Troy De Bruin, Kari Knox (Andrew), Ryan, Melissa and Rob Reynebeau; her great grandchildren, Mason, Roman, Evelyn, Bob and Isaiah Borowski; her grandchildren, Sam, Ellie and Nora Knox; her siblings, Joan Voet, Mary Kalupa, Margaret "Reetz" Buechel, Bernie Van Zeeland (Bonnie) and Ed Van Zeeland (Patti); her sister-in-law Dolores De Bruin; and her stepsister Marlene Coenen (Ruth Theunis). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors.
She sponsored 16 children through both the Christian Foundation for Children & Aging and APUFRAM International. Carol made thousands of rosaries which she donated to the missions.
