He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie Verhagen; his son Richard; his grandson Jesse Schultz; his parents-in-law, John and Marie Verhagen; his brothers, Gerald Van Asten (Katherine) and Ervin Van Asten (Alice); and his siblings-in-law, William Ambrosius, David Neubert, Bill Verhagen (Eileen) and Claire Verhagen.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Van Asten (Lynn), Kimberly, Mary Schultz (Tim), Little Chute and Jeff Van Asten (Maria); his daughter-in-law Connie Van Asten; his grandchildren, Chris Van Asten (Jennifer), Sarah Remmel (Cory), Zac Van Asten (Kristin), Ryan Schultz, Curtis Van Asten (Jessie), Erin Ebben (Brian) and Riley Van Asten; his great grandchildren, Miles, Pearce, Teage Van Asten, Jolyn, Andilee Remmel, Chloe, Landyn Van Asten, Hunter, Jaelynn Ebben and Henley Van Asten; his siblings, Ronald Van Asten (Ann), Germaine Ambrosius, Elaine Miller (Bernie), Marianne Neubert and Diane Gilsdorf (Leo); and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Verhagen (Rose) and Thomas Verhagen.
Due to Covid-19, a private funeral service for the immediate family, officiated by Father Ron Belitz, will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Nepomucene Food Pantry in Little Chute or the American Heart Association.
