She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Carl Jellison Whitney and Carrie Marjorie Whitney (Rassmussen); her siblings, Vincent Carl, William Frances, Margaret Jane and Helen Carrie Reeves (Whitney); her siblings-in-law, Dora Whitney (Bill), Wilma Whitney (Clayton) and Bennett Reeves; and her former husband Donald W. Carter.

She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Liebherr (Jerome) of Kewaunee, WI and David Carter of Lomira, WI; her grandchildren, Erick Janisse (Beth), Jeremy Janisse (Nicole), Jodi Kanzenbach (Cory), Jessica Pamperin (Kevin) and Kari Mrozek-Ley (Aga); and her brother Clayton J Whitney of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
