He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman and Lena; and his siblings, Dorothy Webster, Owen Peterson and Eugene Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ryckman; his children, Sharon Helms (Roger), Barbara Carley (Ron), Roger A. Peterson (Debbie) and Todd W. Peterson; his grandchildren, Adam, Wendy (Brett), Tyler, Cassie (Nate), Megan (Peter), Amiya and Myles; and his great grandchildren, Eva, Nolan, Madeline, Signe and Edwin. He is also survived by brother and sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
