He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Eckstein and Orpha Eckstein (Brown); his wife Theda Alice Larson; his son Abraham Ben; his grandchildren, Ashley Peterson and Justin Eckstein; his siblings, Wanda, Doris and Le Roy "Chub"; his sister-in-law Bonnie Hathhorn; and his son-in-law Doug Joas.
He is survived by: his brother Airport; his granddaughter Kari; his children, Alice Joas, Fay Eckstein, Ted Eckstein (Wendy), Tom Eckstein (Sandy), Clint Eckstein (Robin) and Dan "Digger" Eckstein (Jena); his siblings-in-law, Judy Chance, Gail Blanton (Lawrence) and Tom Hathhorn (Linda); and his close friend Duke. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
