Margie Ellen Metzger Obituary

Margie Ellen Metzger (Clarey) of Lannon, Wisconsin passed peacefully on October 10, 2024 surrounded by her family at home at the age of 86. Margie's favorite place was home and we rejoice that she is now and forever in her Heavenly Home restored to health and life eternal.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Metzger. Together for more than 53 years, they lived a boisterous life with their six surviving children: Jeff (Patti), Mike (Colleen), Doug, Shelley (Steve) Mehmert, Terry (Mike) Steiner, and Julie. Margie's unrelenting spirit and faith carried her through many seasons of life. Her great love for and devotion to her family will be long remembered.

Margie is survived by her grandchildren: Doug (Gina) Dekoning, Melissa, Sam (Matt) Kinkade, Myles, Greg, Ryan, Chelsea (Brian) Boelter, Tyler (Chelsea), Micayla (Tommy) Newbauer, Ciara, Trent (Kelly), Cassandra (Andy) Woods , Hannah Steiner, Halle Steiner, and Steven Mehmert. Grandma's practical advice, encouragement, and good humor wrapped her grandchildren in warmth, love, and laughter.

Margie's love for family extended through another generation who called her "Great-Grandma," Deklynn, Jordynn, Wyatt, Evelyn, Levi, and Wyatt.

Preceded in death by beloved Clarey siblings Allen, Lorraine (Schaich), Ralph, Donny, and George. Further survived by loving niece Lynn Zindl (Schaich) and nephew Arnie Schaich.

While family was Margie's pride and joy she was also an ardent gardener. Whether tending the farm garden or admiring her hostas and impatiens from the back deck swing during visits with family and friends, she admired all things that grew. Margie was also a passionate Wisconsin sports fan, keeping up with both the Brewers and Packers' seasons; she could talk shop with the best of them.

As we reflect on the faith and family-filled life of Margie, Mom, Aunt Margie, Grandma, Gram, and Great Grandma, the Lord has filled our hearts with greater joy (Psalm 4:7) and we look always heavenward in anticipation of. His Kingdom Come.

P.S. Drive safe, Mom.
