He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Perry Smet and Mary Smet; his wife Janice Nelson; and his children, Kelly Simons (Joe) of Land O' Lakes, WI, Joe Smet (Shelly) of Watersmeet, MI and Kate Sluyter (Geoff) of Windsor, CO. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren, 3 brothers plus many extended family.
