He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert West and Alma West (Fehlar); his wife Bernadine Yastrzab; his brother Calvin; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn West and A. J. Voiles.

He is survived by: his children, Ron West (Patty), Cathy McMullen (Dean), Michael West (Michelle), Pamela Carroll (David) and Bernadette Simonson (Doug); and his sister Barbara Voiles. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
