It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Waltraud Esmet Scham of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, who passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Waltraud leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernst Kirschke and Elisabeth Kirschke (Plache); her sibling Viktor Kirschke; and her husband Karl Scham. She is survived by: her daughters, Tordis Gehrlein (Manfred) and Ursula Botsch (Johann); her grandchildren, Siegfried, Thomas Gehrlein, Johann and Gretel Botsch; and her sisters, Brigitte Richter and Sybille Gariepy of Illinois.
