He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Clapper and Gladys J. Clapper (Miller); and his brother James "Jim" Clapper. He is survived by: his wife Christine "Chris" L. Gough; his children, Jessica "Jes" Clapper (Eric Benhart) of Elkhorn, WI, Jenna Clapper (Ryne Harwick) of Lake Geneva, WI and Bob; his grandchildren, Greyson, Bryce, Owen Harwick, Troy and Riley Benhart; and his brother Boyd Clapper of Lake Suzy, FL. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
