He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Christa Hase; his children, Werner (Tina), Edmund (Peggy) and John Thiel; his grandchildren, Megan (Joe), Sarah (Collin), Rachel (Sean) and Ryan; and his brothers, Reinhard (Renate) and Werner Thiel. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
